About Us

SCB started in 1996 as a partnership between a group of Bricklayers which included Ricky Brunner. Over the next nine years there were some changes in the partnership and in 2005 Southern Cross Bricklaying Pty Ltd was established, with Ricky as sole Director.

The company grew steadily over the years and moved from housing and small commercial projects onto larger commercial and industrial projects while still maintaining the housing and small commercial aspect of the company as well.

In July 2023, Ricky’s son, Tim Brunner, took over as the Sole Director after working within SCB for more than 23 years. The last 7 years, Tim has been Operations Manager, overseeing all aspects of the groundwork and expertise we have now become so widely known for. Ricky has continued on in the business managing other aspects of SCB.

Today SCB has approximately 35 to 40 staff, consisting of foreman bricklayers, tradesman bricklayers, apprentice bricklayers, labourers, admin, estimating, brick/block cleaning, yardmen and maintenance staff.
